Course description

This course is restricted to MSWSt students who have received partial credit towards first placement. Departmental consent required for enrolment. Please contact the School for permission to enrol.

First supervised practice experience for MSocWkSt students enrolled in the #32 unit program. Placement runs for 280 hours (approximately 10 weeks commencing two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester, four days a week), in a social welfare agency. Focuses on integration of practice experience with course material and companion courses.

This course is only available to students who have received partial credit towards the field placement requirements. Sem 1 start date is 11th February 2013 Sem 2 start date is 8th July 2013 Prospective students are advised to contact the Field Education Unit (fielded@uq.edu.au), to arrange a pre-placement interview, in the month of April of the same year, prior to going on placement in semester 2; and in the month of October of the previous year, prior to going on placement in semester 1.
