Course description
The Science Industry Placement course enables students to acquire practical skills and experience in an authentic work environment. Through the completion of 120 hours of placement in a science-related workplace, students will gain an understanding of the real world application of their learning. They will also learn about the nature of careers in science, identify possible career pathways, and reflect on their own professional skills and personal development.
Course Quota: 40 students
Students are responsible for securing their own suitable work placement related to their studies, subject to Faculty of Science approval. Students interested in taking this course should complete the Expression of Interest form on StudentHub by not later than the Thursday before the semester 2 mid-semester break.
Eligible students will be invited to a Careers Workshop during mid-semester break to assist with identifying opportunities and preparing application documents.
