Course description

This course provides the student with fundamental knowledge and understanding to assess and manage patient conditions involving musculoskeletal pathology, injury and pain. The course is based on a client-centred framework, uses an interprofessional teamwork approach and includes management of occupational health and safety. As foundation for comprehensive and informed patient assessment and management the four blocks cover: 1) Clinical examination, 2) Tissue pathology processes, 3) Musculoskeletal injury, tissue repair and pain perception processes, 4) Medical and Physiotherapy assessment and management for vascular and orthopaedic conditions within a biopsychosocial framework.
