Course description

The course is based on a seminar program designed to develop awareness and understanding of the broad range of issues on the research agenda of contemporary philosophers, and also philosophers' methods of inquiry, along with the development of extended research, writing, and presentation skills. The seminar program will consist of 3 hour seminars run weekly throughout the semester. Each four week module will be introduced and led by a different member of the philosophy program. Students will choose to write two 4,000 word essays and give a presentation on two of the module topics. The presentation is designed to develop skills in the presentation of a conference paper and to develop the ability to discuss philosophical questions in a professional manner.
