Course description
(offered in semester 2 in odd-numbered years only) Newtonian mechanics and the dynamics of a single particle. Lagrangian mechanics of many body systems. Hamiltonian dynamics, Poisson brackets and canonical transformations. Systems of very large numbers of particles, Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics.
