Course description

This course provides an overview of the law and regulation of mining and energy activities within an international context. It introduces participants to concepts relating to mining activities in Australia and in other international jurisdictions. It examines principles relating to the framework of mining law, including the constitution, ownership of minerals, and indigenous peoples. This course also examines the principles relating to the allocation of access rights to minerals and petroleum and transfers/dealing related to mining and petroleum titles. It also examines the environmental framework related to minerals and energy activities.
