Course description

The course will examine the major force that has been driving recent world history - globalization - from a historical perspective. How did the world become more "global"? What can history tell us about the likely trends of the future? Major themes will include: capitalism, multi-national corporations, environment, war and terrorism, development and poverty, and anti-globalization movements .
