Course description

Students will develop a strong understanding of the principles of chronic disease management and acquire the professional and technical skills required to prescribe, program and deliver exercise for individuals with diabetes, cancer, renal disease, obesity, dementia, osteoporosis, arthritis, poor mental health and older adults. Students will apply their research skills to evaluate the role of exercise in prevention/pre-treatment, during treatment, survivorship and palliation (where appropriate) for this range of chronic and/or complex diseases. This evidence-based approach will then be utilised by students during their supervised clinical experience with individuals with cancer.
