Course description
Principles of mineralogy, stratigraphy, and structural geology applied to hydrogeology. Groundwater and the hydrologic cycles. Physical properties of water, conductivity, permeability, and Darcy¿s law in three dimensions. Chemical composition of groundwater and groundwater pollution. Field and laboratory tests for groundwater sampling, analysis, and resource evaluation. Groundwater and geotechnical problems. Groundwater in coal, gas, petroleum, and geothermal fields.
