Course description

Socio-economic perspective of interaction between environment and development in low-income countries. Issues and conflicts in utilisation of natural resources (land, water, forests) to develop sustainable livelihoods. Impacts of alternative development pathways on the environment (land degradation, pollution, biodiversity loss). Sectoral and country case studies. - Offered even years only.
