Course description
An advanced course on international climate change and environmental management regulation using Australian and overseas examples of implementation into domestic and transnational regimes. The course aims to teach the fundamentals of environmental regulatory design and critically examine existing regimes of particular relevance to Australian and international students. Topics covered include: regulatory theory & policy analysis; climate change & transnational pollution; UNFCCC & Kyoto Protocol; carbon accounting; World Heritage & biodiversity; international fisheries; international trade & the environment. Course includes a field trip to power generation facility to examine climate change regulation.
