Course description
Featuring a range of classic or canonical literary works in English from medieval times to the late twentieth-century, this is a foundational course for further study in English literature past and present. Authors may include the Beowulf poet, Geoffrey Chaucer, Shakespeare, John Keats, James Joyce, Toni Morrison, Jean Rhys, Philip Larkin and others. During this course students are also introduced to influential critical and theoretical concepts for the study of literature.
