Course description
Selections from the vast range of global Enlish-language literary culture today. The course complements the focus on classic literature from the distant and recent past on offer in ENGL1800. Authors studied may include such influential contemporary authors as J M Coetzee, Ian McEwan, Arundhati Roy, Simon Armitage, Yann Martel, Alice Sebold, and others. As with ENGL1800, this course also aims to assist students in developing their understanding of critical and theoretical approaches in the study of literature.
