Course description

This course is designed to engage students in advanced translation practice under supervision with reflections on various issues encountered in translation including problems, strategies and approaches, linguistic issues, theoretical considerations, cultural factors, professional and ethical considerations, and market requirements. The translation project can involve literary or non-literary works. The total length of the project is 10,000 words including actual translation and reflection. The project will enable student to gain an insight in translation at the advanced level and critique translation from professional and theoretical perspectives.
