Course description

This course focuses on contrastive analysis of morphological, syntactic, discourse, pragmatic and cognitive aspects of Chinese and English. It also analyses errors in Chinese interlanguage produced by English speaking learners and explores pedagogical approaches to effectively teach Chinese vocabulary and grammar to native English speakers. The purpose of this course is to raise awareness of potential difficult areas for English speaking learners in their learning of Chinese as a second language.
