Course description

This course explores the global biodiversity of insects, the most species-rich group of organisms on the planet, with an emphasis on the Australian fauna. It takes an evolutionary approach to examining the diversification of the insects, covering various aspects of insect biology & evolution including morphology, systematics, life history, behaviour & ecology. Practicals & laboratory work will include insect collection & identification, DNA barcoding & small-group projects.
