Course description
Historical overview of the myths and realities of Italian and Northern Renaissance art (14th to 16th centuries), including Mannerism. Lectures and discussions focus on themes such as patronage, politics, mysticism, religiosity, science, techniques, iconography, style, and the cult of the artist.
