Course description

This course provides higher-level archaeology students with intensive research into topical areas of the discipline. It is taught in online seminar mode involving lectures as well as individual and group problem based learning, literature analysis and peer interaction. This course is designed to provide advanced training in archaeological method, theory and research design. It will be beneficial for those students continuing to Honours as the course will provide an opportunity to explore archaeological topics of interest and receive feedback on problem design and research strategies. The research portion of this course will be library based and, in consultation with staff, students can develop a research topic of their interest. Students are required to compile an annotated bibliography of 15 references, write a 2250-word research proposal appropriate for Honours and submit a printed poster (in PDF format) of their research project. Students are required to participate in online discussions. There are no exams.
