Course description

ARCS2000 introduces students to the major scientific methods used in archaeology, providing an introduction to their application and some background in their theoretical foundations. Methods discussed include: dating techniques; isotopic analysis; ancient DNA; proteomics; and materials analysis, including microscopy and other analytical tools. ARCS2000 introduces second level university students to concepts, theoretical frameworks and analytical methods crucial to developing a career in contemporary archaeology and archaeological science.
