Course description

History and Memory: This course develops design propositions from a close and critical engagement with significant built and un-built architectural and urban exemplars. Working with changing and enduring values and associated questions of style, longevity and contemporaneity, students design a series of projects that anticipate future needs and respond to existing built fabric. Reflective and analytical drawings of precedents inform the production of projects that engage with cultural and disciplinary histories.
