Course description
This course introduces students to anthropological perspectives on gender in relation to development issues, contexts and practices. Students will gain an understanding of how anthropologists think about gender and what tools anthropology provides to investigate and practice development in ways that attend to gender relations, norms, and identities. In addition to seminar-style lectures and small group discussions, students will have the opportunity to apply anthropological perspectives and skills during in-class activities.
