  2. Select ‘Office 365’ from the side menu.
  3. Log in to Microsoft 365 using your UQ username and password.

Sharing and collaborating with Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 simplifies how you can store, access, co-author, and update files. It also makes it easier to securely share files within and outside UQ.

UQ provides different options for secure file storage. It's important to choose the right option for the information you're working with.

With Microsoft 365's OneDrive application, all staff members get access to 1TB of personal cloud storage. Staff can use this space to:

  • store files related to your work or job
  • share files with others
  • access files from anywhere on any device.

Currently, students do not have access to OneDrive with their UQ account. Students can be invited to collaborate as guests.

Students can sign-up for a personal free OneDrive account and get access to 5GB of cloud storage.

OneDrive integrates with all Microsoft 365 applications and services. You can save files from the desktop, mobile or online applications into your OneDrive folders.

With Microsoft Teams, you can share and collaborate on files directly in a team or chat collaboration space.

The 'Files' tab in Microsoft Teams displays files from your:

  • recently accessed files
  • personal OneDrive cloud storage
  • all Microsoft Teams collaboration workspaces that you are part of
  • other cloud storage.

Through the OneDrive online and mobile applications, you can access your shared libraries, which are the files stored and shared in Microsoft Teams. You can synchronise files or folders from these shared libraries to your computer's local drive.
